Dear Mrs. Bridges-How absolutely exquisite are your poems. They made me cry on this quiet Sunday morning. They are so personal, so lyric, so beautiful, that I can't thank you enough for having the courage to share them w/the world. You write beautifully, I loved every one of them. Are you published? Is this in a book I could buy? If not, it should be! You have a wonderful gift, I do hope you keep writing & letting us share a tiny bit of whats in your soul.
I send you love & peace-
Julie :)

Hello (may I call you Dorothy? It seems so much more friendly). I love your site and am touched by your poetry. You have a great talent for putting your feelings into words in a way that resonates in other people's hearts. I remember watching your dear husband in Sea Hunt when I was a little girl. Over the years, he seemed ageless, except for the colour of his hair. In whatever role he played, I sensed that he was enjoying himself and that he loved being an actor. Many years ago, I had an NDE and I am quite certain that we never truly lose anyone we love. They may be out of the reach of our arms a little while, but never far away. We hold them in our heart until one day, we too, pass through that thin veil that hangs between this Earthly life and the Light. God bless you and your lovely family. Paula

This is my 'depressed stance'. When you're depressed, it makes a lot of difference how you stand. The worst thing you can do is straighten up and hold your head high because then you'll start to feel better. If you're going to get any joy out of being depressed, you've got to stand like this. -Charlie Brown

Here is a poem I wrote after Christmas last year, it was supposed to have been read for me at the International Library Of Poetry Covention held this past weekend in Hollywood, California; SHREADDER What's wrong with this world? I don't understand? Why are people are like they are in this land, hurting each other as much as they can. What's wrong with each person, woman, and man? Reslease me, set me free from my pain. The hurting, and crying of each little thing. I'm torn between two children whom I love so. I want to be with both, should I stay, or go. I wish I could tell you how I loved you so, see you, and hold you, and never let go. My little girl with the sweetest smile, and a heart as gentle as an angel, my child. You were always there when I was sad, you made me laugh when I was hurting, and mad. Your brother I love him so much too. Torn between two children what's a mother to do? My little girl is dead, I weep for her so, my lttle boy's alive, and I love him, and I don't want to go. I want to be with her, but I want to stay with him. My mind is all muddled to decide what then? Torn between two children, one living, one dead. A mother is weeping in her heart, and her head. The pain in her heart is so hard to bear, but then she looks over, and her son's setting there. Her daughter was five when taken away, to live with the angle in Heaven all day. Her little boy who needs her so much, she loves that she can hold him, the feel of his touch. She remebers the little girl, the smile that she had. Oh how this mother in her heart does feel sad. I'm torn between two children whom I love so, I want to be with both of them, should I stay, or should I go?

I was so pleased to see your sight. Your poetry Mrs. Bridges is very beautiful. I never knew that you were a poet till I read your son Jeff's guestbook, and read where someone had mention it. Not long ago I wrote a poem about your son Jeff. You can find it by going to www.poetry.com and type in the last name box, Johnson, firstname box, Velmar, then click, you'll see several titles, Jeff's is intitled, JEFF BRIDGES - ACTOR EXTRAORDINAR, I hope you like it. I always try to capture the inner person when I write a poem about someone, but a lot of my poems are about fictous charecters. I tend to write most of my stuff from a male prespective, why, I am not sure. you can also go to www.poets.com click on the J scroll down to Johnson,Velmar and click to view my short biography. Keep up the writing, it is great. Sincerely Velmar Pewee Hale Johnson
